Get Fit with the Blue Ridge Rollergirls

leave a comment »

The Blue Ridge Rollergirls are pretty notorious around Asheville for generally being badass. Now they’ve decided to host some fitness classes so that the community can soak up some of their swagger and get fit in the process. Here’s the article, from the Citizen-Times website. And here’s some shots that did and didn’t make it in the article:

Had a great time with this one today. Any activity involving jumping, spinning, contortion, et. al is pretty awesome in my book. These girls were tearing it up. Some personal selects:

Lots of new to post, hindered by seasonal blues, sharp nostalgia and a lust for the past.

The only set of negatives I ever lost, so far as I know.

2008, tagging along for a shoot involving a canoe and a raft at the Winston quarry.

Molly’s Wall

leave a comment »

So I tagged along with my wandering compadre Molly Rose Freeman this past week, riding to Charleston to paint a wall for chArt. I didn’t take many photos at all on the trip, but I did manage to snag some of Molly in action on the last day.

Oh yeah, I also shot the Asheville Rites Project this past summer. Molly played a big part in getting that one going, as well as painting the wall for the event. Check the link for some of my photos from the event!

A couple quick portaits…

And the finished wall…

Molly is a great person and a great artist to boot, go buy her art!

New Years Eve Masquerade Furball

with one comment

For New Years I was lucky enough to attend/shoot Brother Wolf Animal Rescue’s Furball fundraiser. This was my first masquerade ball, and I had a blast! Thanks to everyone breaking it down on the dance floor, the woman on stilts captivating everyone in the building, and Brother Wolf for being a much needed resource in the community!

I’ve got personal New Years photos to come later – check back!
